Character

“Character is higher than intellect”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think that this quote is trying to tell us that character has more power than you intellect. People won’t focus if you have good grades or if you have great talent but they will check if you know how to be kind, respectful, honest and many more. I believe that character matters more because you're showing the world that you do mean something and it doesn’t always have to involve your intelligence. An example of this quote would be you’re a basketball player with good grades (straight A’s). But when you’re at home you always decide to help around the house. This tells me that you have good character in yourself even when you have school to attend and being a basketball player. Having character also involves you to choose the right because both are similar to each other. They both involve having integrity, being honest, showing respect to others and much more. Use both your intelligence and character to be a CTR person.

Martin Luther King. Jr

“Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.”- Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr

What this quote is trying to tell us is that you can’t have intelligence alone. You need to put in some character in it. Without character you are nowhere. When you put the both of them together you become someone successful. To get to our goal we need to have intelligence and character together. Education will require you out of this to be successful. Intelligence only shows others what you are capable of. But character brings out the good of and and shows others what kind of person you are and what you can become. By doing this you are also choosing the right because that is our goal after all.

President John R. Kennedy

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”- President John F. Kennedy

What this quote is trying to tell us is that we should always try to stay healthy because it is the key to success. Not only that but when you’re not in good physical condition you get lazy and you’re not willing to cooperate with yourself. Always try to to keep a stable health condition so that you can become someone great and make others and yourself proud. But the sad part is that not everyone thinks that “physical fitness” is the key to success and making something out of it. They see it  just as an activity or hobby you can enjoy and it won’t be necessary in life. There are reasons why we do physical fitness in school not just only to stay healthy but so that we can learn something out of it. Physical fitness also involves the way you think and how you see it. The only way you will succeed in life is if you’re in a good healthy condition because that's the only time you will actually be strong.
